Privacy Policy
Your inbox stays on your Mac.
Notch Now is developed by A1 Local. It keeps a private inbox on your Mac. It does not operate an account, advertising, analytics or cloud-sync service, and does not collect or upload your inbox content.
What stays on your Mac
The files, links, text, notes and reminder times you intentionally save are stored locally in the app’s sandbox container. Settings are stored in the app’s own preferences. A local backup preserves the previous inbox state. Saved links can contain personal information; they remain local.
When you choose a file or drag one in, macOS grants access to that selection. Stable files are linked using a read-only security-scoped bookmark so they can be opened again; short-lived files are copied into the app’s storage. Notch Now never edits, moves or deletes your original files.
Clipboard, notifications and the inbox lock
The app reads clipboard content only when you intentionally paste or use Save Clipboard. It does not monitor clipboard content in the background. When you drag towards the tray it checks supported content types; content is saved after your drop.
Local reminders use macOS notifications, with your permission. Touch ID, Apple Watch or password authentication is handled by macOS; Notch Now does not receive or store your credentials or biometric data. The optional lock hides the inbox on screen. It does not separately encrypt the files on disk.
Connections and other apps
The App Store edition has no app-owned network client or analytics. Updates are handled by the App Store. Opening a saved link or file passes that item to the application you choose or its default handler; that application and any website you visit apply their own privacy policies. Apple’s App Store and operating-system services are governed by Apple’s policies and your system settings.
Retention and removal
Items stay in your inbox until you remove them. Done items and their saved copies remain recoverable until you empty Done Items in Settings. Delete briefly supports Undo, then removes the app-owned copy. The local previous-state manifest backup can retain recently removed text or metadata until a later successful save replaces it. Originals remain untouched.
Settings → Storage → Show in Finder locates the app’s storage if you want to remove all locally retained inbox data after quitting the app.
This website and support email
This website uses no analytics, advertising, tracking scripts or contact forms. Your browser connects to the website’s hosting service to load its pages and assets.
If you email us, your email address and the information you choose to share are used to respond to your enquiry. Email is handled by Cloudflare Email Routing and our email provider. Sending an enquiry is optional and happens outside the app. Please avoid including private inbox content unless it is needed to explain the issue.
Contact and changes
For support and privacy enquiries, email support@notchnow.app. You can also visit the support page. If the app’s data handling changes, this policy will be updated with a new date.
