# Notch Now identity

The mark is a soft pocket with a notch cut into its top edge. A detached capsule sits above the pocket: a reference to the laptop notch and a small thought finding a place to wait. Its solid silhouette remains recognisable at small sizes. There is no arrow, checkmark or task metaphor.

## Assets

- `mark.svg` — ink mark on a transparent background; navigation, documents and light surfaces.
- `mark-light.svg` — mint mark on a transparent background; dark surfaces.
- `app-icon.svg` — 128-unit app-style rounded square; website product imagery and large icon previews.
- `favicon.svg` — full-bleed square with the same geometry, suitable for a browser tab.
- `wordmark.svg` — horizontal mark and product-name lockup; system typography with no external font dependency.
- `app-icon-1024.png` — transparent 1024 × 1024 raster export of the app-style icon.
- `favicon-16.png`, `favicon-32.png`, `favicon-48.png` — raster browser icons at their named sizes.
- `apple-touch-icon.png` — 180 × 180 raster icon for saved browser shortcuts.

The matching social card is available at `../social-card.svg` and `../social-card.png` (1200 × 630). Its text makes no public availability promise.

All five are original SVG source files, with accessible names and no remote dependencies. They can be downloaded and used directly. The app icon is a website brand asset; the native application's existing generated icon remains a separate asset.

Raster exports use the same logo geometry, drawn natively through Core Graphics and AppKit. Regenerate them from the repository root with:

```sh
/usr/bin/swift -module-cache-path /private/tmp/notch-now-swift-module-cache tools/export-brand.swift
```

## Colour

| Role | Hex | Use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ink | `#1d2423` | Logo, headings, dark surfaces |
| Paper | `#f6f5f1` | Warm light page background |
| Mint | `#b7e8d0` | Mark on dark surfaces, calm accent |
| Active mint | `#8ae8c2` | Existing app accent and interactive feedback |

Use the ink mark on paper and the mint mark on ink. Keep the silhouette flat; avoid applying gradients, drop shadows, rotations or decorative outlines to the mark itself. The app square has one restrained highlight around its edge.

## Typography and spacing

Use the platform system font stack. Pair the mark with **Notch Now**, using a medium or semibold weight and slightly tightened tracking. The supplied wordmark uses live SVG text so the platform's native type renders naturally; use HTML text beside `mark.svg` where text should be selectable or responsive.

Give the standalone mark at least 8 units of clear space, based on its 64-unit canvas. Use a minimum displayed canvas width of 24 px for navigation and 16 px for the favicon. Preserve the mark's aspect ratio and the capsule's position. Show **Notch Now** in accessible labels; mark-only images next to the written name can use an empty HTML `alt` to avoid duplicate announcements.
